OPPORTUNITY: High School Generating Momentum student conference

“We owe it to ourselves and to the next generation to conserve the environment so that we can bequeath our children a sustainable world that benefits all.”

Generating Momentum student conferences (3)

Join the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation for one-day student conferences about Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life On Land.

It’s sometimes very easy to forget how much we rely on the earth and as a result, we can take it for granted. From the water we drink to the air we breathe, we depend on the existence of a clean and healthy planet. As global citizens, it’s our responsibility to act responsibly and take action to protect life on earth.

With this year’s theme of Interconnected: Life On Land, students and educators will explore the interconnected nature of our planet; learning why protecting our ecosystems and forests, biodiversity, and sustainable land use matter around the world. With a focus on students taking action, students will leave the conference equipped with diverse skills they will use in their school or community to organize a follow-up activity or event.
