Youth to Build Women’s Solidarity at Global Event

This month, Rose Fontaine, representing Manitoba, took part in the 2025 ICN Youth Delegates’ inspiring two-part webinar on youth activism and global solidarity. Rose is part of a youth delegation travelling to Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) International Forum, a gathering of global changemakers focused on feminist and gender justice movements.

The event brought together young changemakers from across Canada to discuss on critical global issues like gender equity, climate justice, and human rights. This was an opportunity for them to share their opinions and give suggestions on how to ensure youth is actively engaged in driving positive change,

Rose Fontaine’s participation highlighted her commitment as an Indigenous advocate in Manitoba, particularly through her work with the Bear Clan Patrol Inc, where she is actively involved in addressing issues like MMIWG2S (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people). Her efforts to advance equity and justice in her community have already inspired others to take bold steps toward building a more just and inclusive future.

Watch recordings from these young, dynamic leaders to see how youth are involved and in global solidarity and explore how you can help support their efforts toward meaningful change.
